One night, I broke. I sat on my bed and stared at the ceiling. "God, I don’t know what You’re doing. I’m frustrated. I’m tired. I don’t even know if You’re listening." That was the first real prayer I’d prayed in weeks. And guess what? I felt peace. Not because my situation changed, but because I did. Something powerful happens when we drop the performance and get honest.
God isn’t looking for a polished performance. He’s looking for a real relationship. When Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, He wasn’t quoting scripture. He was sweating blood and begging for another way (Luke 22:42-44). You don’t have to sound spiritual to be heard. You just have to be real. Try it tonight. No filters. Just you and God.
Prayer was never meant to be a monologue it’s a conversation. Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Get honest. Get vulnerable. That’s where real change begins.
