My first Christian relationship started with prayer and ended in confusion. We had chemistry and matching Bible apps, but something felt off. I ignored the red flags because we “loved Jesus.” Sound familiar? God doesn’t want you to suffer in the name of love. He wants you to thrive. Godly dating isn’t just about purity rings. It’s about purpose.
Green flags matter. Do they pray with you when you’re anxious? Do they celebrate your calling or feel threatened by it? Do they bring peace or confusion? The right relationship won’t pull you from God. It’ll push you toward Him (2 Corinthians 6:14). Don’t settle for potential. Look for fruit (Matthew 7:16-17).
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Your heart matters to God. Choose relationships that protect it, nurture it, and help it grow in Him.
